MILK VENDOR FINED

Yesterday, tho George' Nash Milk Distributing Company was proceeded against by tho Public Health Department on a charge of selling milk deficient in butter-fat. Mr. P. S. K. Macassey, of the Crown Law Office, who appeared for tho Department, stated that the sample taken contained 2.80, per cent, of butter-fat. while the required standard was 3.25 per cent. Daring tho month in which tho sample was taken tho average of the milk of. all tho milk vendors was 1.25 per cent. Mr. S. E. M'Carthy, S.M., who heard the case, recorded a conviction, and imposed a fine of .£lO and costs, in default one month's imprisonment. Mr. P. W. Jackson ap-' peared for the defendant.
