MILITARY SERVICE BOARD
APPEALS BY SOLDIERS. 8 There was a long list of cases set down for consideration by the Third Wellington Military Service Board yesterday. Mr. W. H. Maorhouse presided over the morning sitting, and Messrs. M. J. Mack and A. O'L. Considine also were present. In the afternoon the chairman was absent, and Mr. Mack presided. Tire cases heard were applications by soldiers for leave from camp, mostly to do farm work.

Appeals were dismissed as follow—Private H. J. Northwood, 30th Reinforcements, Trentham; Private F. W. Barker, 30fch Reinforcements, Trontham. In the case of Private E. Geale,. 31th Reinforcements, Featherston, the board decided to make no recommendation as to leave, and an application for financial assistance is to be put in. A weok's leave, when convenient, was recommended for Private J. Moir, 31st Reinforcements.
Ihreo months' leave without nay was granted Private G. Murell, 30th 'Reinforcements, Trentham.
Fourteen days' leave without pay was recommended for Corporal A. Browne, 30th Reinforcements, Trentham, The case of Private F. Giuhey, 31st Reinforcements, Trentham, was adjourned till November 15, and that of Private Chas. B. Kerr, 30th Reinforcements, Trentham, was adjourned for a week.
