CHEESE AND BUTTER
NO NEWS FROM ENGLAND YET.
Mr. G. J. Anderson asked tho Primo Minister in the House of Representatives yesterday whether ho had any further information to givo to the House about the purchase of cheese. Mr Hassey said that ho had expected a roply to his inquiries during last weekend but nothing bad arrived. On. Monday he had sent an urgent cablegram, and he thought, the Tesu.lt would be to bring a definite answer in a day or two. Mr. Fletcher: What about butter? Hughes' has made a big deal in AusT }h\ Massey: I think we can do better than that. . Mr. Witty: Better for all of us or only for a few of us? Mr. Massey: Anything that is Rood foi the producer is good for the whole country I may say that the Department had arranged for tho butter producers to.come to Wellington to consider an offer this week, but it has been found impossible to get. them together, and the meeting has been postponed until next week. . . .
