A MATTER OF PAY.
At a meeting of the Wellington Technical Education Board' If ,~ton letter was. received from the Wellington Education-Board drawing attentioni to.the position (as regards salary) of teacher,, who go to the war; . The position was said to bo tnat u a •teacher went as a commissioned officer his pay was made up by tho Departwent, so that his receipts amounted-to ■Lγ and .V quarter, hut if ho went as. a private , or a non-commissioned officer lio ' got •■ only his military pay. The Educt fion Board asked the-Technical Education Board to support them m an effort to get the position of privates and noncommissioned officers sot right. _ It was decided to support the effort.
