OFFICIAL REPORTS ON LATEST ATTACK EFFECTIVE ANTI-AIRCRAFT BARRAGE, London,. September 26. I A British official report states that last night's aerial casualties amounted to seven killed and twenty-five injured. The .Press Bureau reports: Gunfire turned back the first group of the raiders as they were approaching London last night, and only two penetrated the defences. These dropped a number ofbombs on the south-eastern outskirts of London, damaged some dwellinghouses, and killed six people and injured sixteen. The second group of raiders was driven olf.before it reached London. These machines dropped bombs in the south-east of England. No casualties or damage lias yot been reported.—Aus.-N.Z. A German official report states: "Our aviators in the evening bombed Ramsgate,- Margate, Dover, Boulogne, Calais, and Dunkirk, causing fires. One machine has not returned."—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.-Reutsr. • TWO RAIDERS BROUGHT DOWN IN HOLLAND. Amsterdam, September 26. Two German aeroplanes, one of si big new type, have been brought down at Flushing. One of them, refusing to surrender, was shot down by a Dutch torpedo-boat;. the other descended, and the occupants were interned.—Reutcr. AIR OFFENSIVE DEMANDED London, September 20. The "Daily Chronicle'Mnsists upon flie necessity for an aerial offensive, carrying the war into the enemy's land, and forcing the Germans to retain a serious proportion of their aviators to guard German towns. —Aus.-N.Z.
