PRESENT -POSITION OF THE BILL/ : Mention was made of the Sale _ of Liquor Restriction Bill in the Legislative Council yesterday. This Bill, after being passed by the House of Representatives. was referred by tho Legislativo Council to its Statutes Revision Commit, tee, in accordance with a promiso made by the Ministers in the Houso that further consideration would be given to the question of how to adjust rents as between landlord and licensee under tho I conditions created by early closing.' Sir Francis Bell said that the committee, which had been engaged in tho consideration of a difficult problem, would probably be able to make its report to the Council on Thursday next. It had been hearing evidence, and would be in a position to begin its deliberations on Wednesday.
