THE KORNILOFF-KERENSKY SENSATION
MORE ABOUT THE SECRET COUP
SOCIALIST MISTRUST AND INSECURITY ROUSED
By Telegraph-Press Association- Copyright ml _ , j , London, September 25. The Petrograd correspondon t of the "Daily News" states that tho publication of tho documents concerning tho Kornitoff jimitiny has caused a sensation. They show that M. Savinkoif (Assistant War Minister), apparently in M. Kerensky's name, offered for General, Korniloff's consideration three variants of a dictatorship, and discussed the participation of General Kornil'off, M. SavinkofT. M. Filomenko. and Jf. Keronslcy, in various combinations. Tho announcement of an individual or collective dictatorship was to coincide with the declaration of martial law in Petrograd, and with a merciless destruction of tho revolutionary organisations responsible for the Bolshevik plots. The documents show that the Government contemplated bringing the Third Cavalry Corps to Petrograd. which would be the signal that the repressive measures demanded by General Korniloff would be realised. Tho Government is preparing a statement on the subject, to be issued on M. Koronsky's return. This, however, is delayed, owing to the Germans' activity at Dvinsk. No statement is likely to destroy the fooling of profound mistrust and insecurity aroused among the Socialiste.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
