YOUNG OFFICERS
The'following reference to young officers appears in military orders issued from Headquarters:— ■ , '"In reply to questions regarding the disposal of officers who are at present raider military age, but who will shortly 1,0 attaining the age of 20, it is notified for "eneral information that it is not considered advisable to appoint euch vouu" officers to direct commissions m reinforcoment drafts. On attaining the a->e of 20 these gentlemen should not be attested as ofßcere. They. will proceed to camp as ordinary recruits m accordance with tho regulations and instructions kid down under the Military Service Act. On arrival in camp they will he afforded the same opportunities tor promotion as other memfiers of ™>!>ifo™r ment drafts. It is directed that in each SS" where such an officer proceeds to camp as a private a letter shall bo fciwArded by his District Commander to he "Camp Commandant. concerned, setting out his former service as an officer S making a short report on his jnillih?«w to the mnke'in camp wil •will go on in the usual manner until their "return.
