Thanks to the City Council's recent decision to erect a new fire brigade station at the top of Constaolo, Street, a good deal of.rock filling lias l>een made available for®further reclamation at the south'.end'of the reserve, and with tho portion not yet laid down in grass another six acres should be availablo as a playing area by the end of next winter. The park, 'has now a fino mat of thick grass, and a start has been rado to plant a border near tho main road with pine trees. This many believo is a mistake, beciluso as they grow a view of this noble expanse of grass land will be shut out from passers-by.' The kerb-wall and garden strip idea (as adopted at the Basin Reserve) is the more modem lotion, and would, it is considored, make the park a more attractive feature in the difficult task of beautifying Kilbirnie South.
