CITIZENS' CHRISTMAS GIFT FUND

The citizens of Wellington for the past three years, with the assistance of the sports bodies, co-operating with the Mayoress and the Citizens' League, have been able lo provide each or our soldiers from the Weellington military area with a, parcel, of the approximate value of ss. The parcels contain such articles as condensed milk, sugar, meat extracts, socks, tobacco, cigarettes, etc., samples of which can. be seen at the Town Hall. Last year upwards of 211,000 parcels woro made, up and dispatched, and a liko number is required this year. In ordor to lighten the work of the committee a 'suggestion was put forward thiit an-earnest endeavour should bo made lo obtain ono hundred donations of .£lO, as a nucleus of the amount required "viz., .£SOOO. deques may bn sent to His Worship the Mayor, to the Mayoress, ami to Mr. C. 0. Wilson (chairman of committee), Box 1517, care Sargood, Sou, and Bwen, Ltd., or to Mr. JR.. W. ShaUevass, lion, secretary, NX Sports Protection League, Box 095, Wellington.
