THE EFFICIENCY BOARD
MR. MASSBY AND SIR JOSEPH WARD TO SIT AS MEMBERS. The Prime Minister made a brief statement in the Houso of Representative!! yesterday regarding the National Efiicitncy Board. Mr. Massey said that the board was still hi oxistonce. He h,ad lately been, in communication- with members of the board, and some of them had agreed to tako office again. Ho himself would become a member of tho board, and wculd, tako part in tho prociedings. tf e had' no doubt that this new arrangement by which a Minister. would represent the Government on tho board would work very well. When, tho House resumed yesterday, evening, tho Prime Minister stated that since the afternoon sitting ho had taken the opportunity of ascertaining whother tho Finance Minister would sit on tho new Efficiency Board, and Sir Joseph Ward had agreed to do so. The board! would therefore consist of two members; of Cabinet and five other members representing the commercial, industrial, and. primary industries of the country. Mem-, hers of tho House, he felt sure, would, agree with him that tho board would bo able to do good work. Mr. Witty: Can you give the names? . Mr. Massey: I don't think so, becanso ! some of tho mombers of the present board will retire and others will take their' place. >
