SUPREME COURT

In the Supreme Court oil Saturday, Bis Honour Hi*. Justice Hosking delivered judgment upou tlie question of costs in Iho case of James J. Niven and Co. against the Poverty Bay Farmers' Co., Ltd. This was a dispute a-bout mucliinory, and there was a, counter-claim by tho defendant company. His Honour awarded the parties costs on tho issues on which they respectively succeeded. Mr. 0. P. Slierrctt, K. 0., appeared for the plaintiff company, and Mr. M. Myers for the defendant company. DIVORCE PETITION. Mr. Justice Hosking heard an undefended petition in divorce by Arthur Walter Htannard, a slaughterman, against Ellen Stannard (nee O'Halloran) and Anthony Jones (a Greek). Tho grounds of tho petition were adulters*. Tho parties were married iu Wellington in January. 1915, and lived at Johnsonvillc. Petitioner alleged that tho respondent went to live with tho co-respondent In oped adultery, and that the pair worked in a restaurant together. His Honour granted a decree nisi, and ordered tho co-respondent to pay cbsts £20.
