.N.X. POULTKY ASSOCIATION. The executive board of the N.Z. X'oultry Association iicld its regufai- monthly meolinE at the Hotel Cecil, Wellington, ou September 4. There were present: Messrs. Gallichan (president), Brown, Mumby, Finn (Wellington), Boddiugtion (ilastertou), and Merrett (Ohrlßtchuruh). Considerable time was apent a recommendation lo tho ltopafflmoDt of Agriculture for .1 standard lor pollard. Tho raauy samples now comine on to the market were nothing more thau ground-up bran, for which the millers were beins paid pollard prices. Ono inombor of the board. Bttttcd that in two tons of pollard he hod received, 25 per cout. was infovior l'iccincal. Letters vyoro read from different poultrymcn, when tihey stated that £11 per ton was charged for pollard, and from 7s. 3il. to Bβ. per bushel for wheat. It was resolved that tho Department of Agriculture bo asked' to give yrom.pt eireet to thu remit, on tho standard for pollard, also lo inquire if oboapen foods could be purchased in Australia, for the relief of poultryinen.
It was ronorlcd that the question of imported eggs had bcon .relegated to Ihc Beard of Trade, and it wa« decided 1o await tho decision of tho board before taking further action in the matter. Letters were, received relative- to the position for organiser, but it was resolved to let matters stand until further arrangements were in hand towards appointing an orga-nieor. Application for affiliation from the Wellington Egg Circle was made, but it. wag resolved to ask for tho list of members and i»-py of rules before granting-- tho affiliation.
Tho question of returned soldiers and poultry-keeping- iva-s lengthily diecussed, and it was agreed that tlk> only practical method was to dsk for a poultry settlement, to be. aa'Taiiged so that.an espert would bo able to supervise and give the necessary instrnction.
