As the weather was bad at Onchuuf* the Kimu did not leave yesterday for New Plymouth, but instead will leavo on Monday at 2 p.m. in her usual running. The Taiuui. which, will arrive this morning from Lyttelton, will leave again this evening for Lyttelton, returning here on Tuesday. The collier Kokiri will lcavo to-day for Westport. Tho coastal steamer Hnia will leave at noon to-day for Wanganui and New Plymouth. On her arrival at Wellington to-day from Wanganui the Alexander will ko on tho Slip for cleaning and painting. She is ti-incd to sail at 5 p.m. on Monday for Nelson and West Coast. Tho Nikau will come off tho Slip this morning, and sail in the afternoon for Nelson as usual. A very severe gale, accompanied by extraordinarily high tides ■ was experienced -t Stewart Island_on Saturday and Sunday .ast (states an exchange). Damage to the amount of £400 was done to the sea-wall and roads along the shore. Two launches wero driveu ashore at Horseshoe Bay, ono being smashed up. Two spans of the approach to tho wharf at Horseshoe Bay were washed away. The tide was tho highest known to the oldest inhabitant. The sailing time of the Itosamond for Dunedin and Bluff has been put forward to 5 p.m: ou Monday, ou account of tho vessel being delayed at New Plymouth, and not being able to leave that port until last evening. She is duo hero this afternoon. Cargo will be received, until 3 p.m. on Monday. The Kamona was to have- loft Greymoutn. at 2 a.m to-day with coal for Wellington. Tho Ngahero is to leave Greyniouth to-day with coal for Wellington. The Komata, is duo hero to-morrow with coal from Westport. Tho flarawii came out ot doclc at Auckland on Wednesday, and will sail for Onchunga, on Tuesday, taking cargo for New Plymouth. Sho will resume running in the Onchunga-New Plymouth run on XhursTlio iliinitangi will leave Wellington at 11 a.m. to-day for all ports at tho Chatham Islands. The Union Company states that th» Mapourika, is to leave Westport at noon to-day for Nelson and Wellington. The vessel will not arrive here until late to-morrow morning. Mr. W. Deiley. mate on the Defender, has joined the Opawa in a similar capa-C-a'ptain J. Eyan, of the Union Company's ccrvico, joined a vessel at Lyttelton on Wednesday, and Captain .T. Page whom he replaced, has gone to Dunedin for orders. Mr. W. Hood, engineer on the Defender, has come a shore, and Mr. F. L. Peterson has filled the position. ■ -. Mr. H. W.
