At last/ evening's meeting of the City Council it was reported that tho following donations had been made to tho Zoo:—1 white cockatoo, from Mrs. Lambert, Plimmerton; I , emu, from Mr. Aitken, Paradise Diamond Lake, Wakatipu; i bundles of eh nibs, from Mr, A. S. Walsh, Collcy Street, I'oxton. Tenders are to be invited for tho erection, of an additional lion's cago at tho zoological collection. Tho committee aro of opinion that it is essential that tho new cage should bo erected owing to the cramped position in rehich two growing lions are at present placed, and they are confident that sufficient additional revenue will bo obtained this year to cover the cost of tho work.
