EFFICIENCY BOARD
RESIGNATIONS ACCEPTED BODY TO BE RE-FORMED MINISTER TO SIT AS MEMBER By Telegraph-Press Association, Christchurch, September 5. Mr. J. A. Frostick, the Natbnal Efficiency Board Commissioner for Canterbury, has received a telegram from 'he chairman of the Efficiency Board, Wellington, as follows:—"Eesignntions ;.c----cepted as from August 15, bu.t permit time for reorganisation. . Minister is writing direct to each commissioner with suggestions." Mr.'Froetick said that in his opinion the course which had been taken was the only one possible.
Auckland, September 5. Mr. Gunson, a member of the Efficiency Board, states that the resignation of the Efficiency Board has been accepted by the Government. He wlded that no doubt the Government would carry on the organisntion which the board had created, namely, the trustee boards, as the latter were particularly of value in matters such as where men nro called up for service, and when the Second Division is called u/p.
ANNOUNCEMENT CONFIRMED EECONSTRUCTION OF THE BOARD. The announcement that the resignation of the FjfSciency Board has been accepted is confirmed. This does not mean, however, that the work of the board is to cease. The board , is to be reconstructed, perhaps with a changed personnel. There may or mar not be a. modification of the order of reference, but the interference of the board in policy matters to the embarrassment of the Government, and recurrence of vexatious friction of board and Government will be presented by the addition to the board of a Minister.
