ITALIANS CAPTURE MONTE SAN GABRIELLE

POLA ATTACKED BY AIR SQUADRONS EFFECTIVE RAID ON AUSTRIA'S NAVAL BASE (Rec. CADORNA OUTWITS THE AUSTRIANS Rome, Sep'tember 4. Tho "Corriere del Sera" states that several thousand Austrians were concealed in caverns in the Cargo, with instructions to- remain until the Italians had reached the third or fourth Austrian lines, and then to emerge and attack tho Italians in tho renr, catching them between two fires. General Cadorna, foreseeing this danger, dispatched a division for the initial attack, and held another in readiness to assail the emerging Austrians.
