LIEUTENANT ERIC REEVES, M.C. Reference was made.in a recent newsletter from the New Zealand correspondent to the gallant conduct of*, young, Wellington lieutenant in. the Battle oi Messines. In the House of Representatives yesterday Mr. Wright read, tho paragraph from tho letter, and asked the Defence Minister if •he would give the name of {his officer who had so distinguished liimself. And I wish to say, for the benent ot those who have been attacking young officers, that this is a young officer who was only about twenty years of age when he left New Zealand. When the commanding officor ,and the other officers of his company were put out of action this young man took command, and did so well that he won the Military Cross.
