TO COMMENCE ON SUNDAY. Tho universal 3d. fare did not find favour with the public or with the majority of the members of tho City Council, and for some time thero weve fortnightly discussions round the council table on the subject. Finally, after a good deal of fis to' the merits and demerits of raising tlie Sunday fares at all, a compromise was arrived at. by fixing the Sunday fares (on all cars except the "specials") sit a minimum of 2d., as from September 1.
