PACKING FROZEN MEAT

METHOD DISCUSSED. f ; Discussing the new method of packing 'frozen carcasses, at a meeting of the , Gisborne Sheepfarniers' Frozen Meat Co., the chairman of directors .(Mr. de Latour) ,_ 'remarked that it was found to bo impracticable as regards the' frozen carcasses .. in store, so that tho local factories would - Lavo to start with 200,000 to 250,000 carcasses as in store. As regards the new . ecasonj meat, the opinion of the freezing .. companies, when they met at Wellington on August 2, was that with the scarcity of ■''labour and the extra'time required, it • would bo found almost impossible, when the pressure in the factories was at its greatest, to continue this noticing. An experiment bad been conducted by the Gcnr Company, \which resulted in twelve carcasses an hour, so • that would mean ' as largo a gang lor the packing as for the killing. It was not the time it took in cutting, but it was tho packing. However, it was all an experiment, and it was a matter they could not count on much this season, -but they would do their best to get in all -they 'could.
