MEETING OP THE COUNCIL. At Hie last meeting of the National War Funds Council there were present: Messrs. J. H. Gunson (Mayor of Auckland), J. H. Upton, .1. P. Luke (Mayor of Wellumton). W. E. Grimmoiid and Evans, representing tho Westland Advisory Committee, attended by invitation. Messrs. Griminond and Evans expressed their entire satisfaction -with the methods of administration of the Westland funds under tho control of the council, and Mr. Leaver also expressed tho satisfaction of iiis committee in regard to Jhe system of local administration and the "smooth working of existing arrangements, and said he wondered that a large number of other districts had not taVmi advantage of the sclicmo. The council dealt, -with an application from the heads of the. Public Service Departments to accept Ihe control and administration of ihc fund contributed by members of tho Service, at present uninvested.
