The ' Times' correspondent at Petrograd slates that the Government has a-bolished the restrictions against the-Catholic and other churches, has abolished the: office of Procurator of the Holy Synod, and has appointed a Ministry of Public Worship.-The "Times." ' AUSTRIA FEARS AN ITALIAN OFFENSIVE MOST SERIOUS DANGER TO CENTRAL EMPIRES REFUSES TO TRANSFER MANY DIVISIONS TO RUSSIA t. Washington, August 9. Official advices state that Austria is frantically fortifying her western front, fearing an early Italian offensive.' She has refused Germany's request to transfer many Austrian divisions to Russia, and instead has mobilised the older Austrians to go to Russia. Vienna believes that an Italian offensive will be the most serious danger to the Central Empires this autumn.
