The effect of this will be that all railway and tramway services will cease work, as far as union labour is concerned, at midnight to-night. Coal stocks are ample to meet requirements. The railway clerks are manning the coal stages, and many outside offers of help havo been received. A few of the drivers and firemen remain loyal. The immediate effect will bo felt in the Sussex Street market, where prices are advancing rapidly. Potatoes have increased by 20s. per ton.—Press Assn.
