THE CONNOR APPEAL CASE

Sir,—As a constant reader of your paper I would like to make a few remarks about my brother's appeal case, recently - heard iu Masterton, at which four settlers—Messrs. Eiuidcll, Dowden, Pryde, and Petersen—from the district wherein my brother resides came to give evidence re supposed false statements made bjhim at an appeal case heard in "Woodvillo about three weeks ago. By what; I can-make of 'their statements they seem to want my father's farm; to be run on the "one-horse show" principle. As was stated, milking machines have just been put in, and these persons seemed- intent on getting my brother away, so that ho would not 1 be able to givo those at home a start with the machines when the cows came in, in the spring. I This I must say is necessary, because children would not be capable of managing a herd of cows that had not been milked by machines before.. 1 may also state these facts that their atatemenb about my mother and fatliei's health aie absolutely incorrect. My mother has, been a partial invalid for a number of years, and if the man who said she was a strong able-bodied woman had hadto cook his own breakfast like I had. ; often done after milking 18 to 20 cows I he would have a different tale to tell. iln Mr. Don-den's evidence he f»' h° had been asked by settlers why the Connor bovs had not been taken. Ko«, ivh> did not any of these settlers come to my brother or. I personally and asK was question? Probably they thought too much of their fe NOIL
