In Explanation. The item "tea not otherwise enumerated" moans tea imported in _ packets. This was previously subject *to 2d. per- lb. when from British Dominions, but 2 2-sd. per lb from foreign countries. Tea in bulk provided free from British possessions is now 3d. per lb. from these Dominions, and sd. per lb. from foreign, countries. There is no increase in duty on cotton-piece goods, but the rate on silk goods is increased from 20 to 30 per cent. Beer Duty. The previous minimum rate was 3 12-lGd., giving an all-round average duty of -Id. per gallon. This minimum is now advanced to i l-16d., and the average is accordingly expected to Teachod. per gallon.
