WEATHER IMPROVING
Yesterday in Wellington and district was cold and showery, with the wind in tho south. The night was clear and fine. Cool and changeable weather is predicted in the ollirial communique of tho Meteorological Department. Conditions are improving generally, however. Tho barometer is rising, and the winds, which are expected to come strong from tho south-east, aro to decrease.
