Mr. D- .Tones (North Canterbury) moved at tho Farmers' Union Conference yesterday:—"That Iho conferenco bring prominently beforp tho whole, of the farmers of tho Dominion the important necessity of their producing all tho wheat possible during tho war crisis, in tho interest of tho wholo community, considering that the landed interest has a duty to the whole body politic, without considering that other avenues of the industry may present possibly larger fields for profit." ■ • Mr. G. Sheat (Dunsnndel) seconded. The motion was carried with but little discussion.
