MUST BE BASED ON CONTROL OF LIVE STOCK PRICES. (Rec. July 26, 9.50 p.m.) Melbourne, July 26. ' Mr. Hughes (Federal Prime Minister) announces that it will be impossible to fix the price of meat without fixing the price of live stock. The Farmers' Association lias offered to supply Britain with finished leather at Is. 9d. per pound, ■ as against the existing price in Britain, 3s. 9d. per pound.—Press Assn.
