ENEMY KEPT MOVING

London, July 25. An official dispatch from East Africa states:—"The action at NaroiiKombe on July 19 was in difficult, hilly, bush country. The enemy's losses were heavy, and he was driven out of all his positions. The main body retreated towards Mbomkura Valley. A small detachment retreated in a south-wes'erly direction. A small German column in tho northern area was reported on July "0 to be upon the north shore of Lake Manyara, westward of Arusha. A column "from Sodgea on July 21 came in contact with the retreating enemy twenty-eight miles southward of Mahenge. We are pursuing. In Portugese East Africa enemy detachments from Southern Nyassalnud aro hastily retreating towards tho Eovuma Eiver.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.-Eeut.er. THE SITUATION IN THE BALKANS GREECE'S PEO-ALLY CONVERSION RAISES NEW ISSUES. (Ree. July 2G, GJS p.m.) Paris, July 26. Hie Allies' Balkans Conference has opened. 11. Eibot (the French Premier), who is presiding, referred to the irodined conditions which had been created, by Greece's action in ranging alongside the Allies. This development necessitated a reconsideration of the military situation in the Balkans.—Router.
