THE WHEAT PURCHASE
REGULATIONS TO BE GAZETTED.
"The farmers of Canterbury are satisfied with the proposal made by the Government to purchase wheat at ss. 10d. a bushel f.0.b., but they want nn assurance that the Government will take tho whole crop," said the Hon. D. Buado (Kaiapoi) in the House of Representatives. "Does the Government intend to buy after it has secured the 6.500,000 bushels estimated to be required for the year? The point is important to farmers who are now preparing to plant spring wheat." The Minister of Aenculture (tho Hon. W. D. S. Mac Donald) said he had already assured the farmers that the Government would buy the whole 191/-1S crop at tho price arranged. The pro. mise would be kept. The ga-zefcting or the regulation had been delayed owing to the fact that some minor clauses demanded consideration, but the SolicitorGeneral would be asked to prepare tho .Gazette notice within the next few days. Mr. Nosworthy: Will it be f.0.b.? The Minister made 110 statement on this point.
