THE GISBORNE TRAGEDY

Gisborne, July 24. Tlio police are advised that Anderson, and Bradley were engaged with others on a fencing contract back of Wairongornai Station, 'i'uo men camo in from camp to the station on Sunday for ptovisions, and returning on Monday morning to tlio camp discovered both mon. dead. Bradley was found in a ditch close to the hut, and Anderson in tlio hut dead with a rifle' alongside him. There- was no rifle beside Bradley. Members of the party state that Bradley and Anderson quarrelled on Saturday. Constable Cooper, who has gone to Wairongomai to make investigations regarding the tragedy, reports from the station that the body of one victim, Olaf Anderson, has two bullet wounds in the back and one in the back of the head. A rifle was lying close alongside. The body of the other victim, Bradley, was' lying about five feet away, and had two bullet wounds—one tinder the heart and the other through tho forehead. Inspector Johnston and Detective M'Leod leave Gisborne for the scene of the tragedy to-morrow.- No further details are available. I 1 ■
