At a meeting of the Austrian Academy of Sciences the president announced the loss Which the academy had sustained by the death of one of 'their honorary members, Sir Edward Tylor, lain -Professor of Anthropology at Oxford. The members expressed their sympathy by rising from their seats. The big male Kordofan giraffe, presented in 10(12 to the London Zoological Society by General Sir B.
