FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for southerly and westerly Minds, strong to sale, and misettled, boisterous weather, with 1-eavy rain generally arid snow in high coun-. try in the south. . Barometer rising in the north, hot unsteady in the south. "The area has intensified cowsiderably, and the- barometer is now extremely low, .Heavy rain -has fallen--in tho North Island and the north-east.districts of the south. The weather has continued unsettled generally, and very stormy in the northern distnots. . Strong westerly winds have predominated, but have changed to southerly in many parts today. ■ B. V.
