Dalgety and Company, Ltd., Palmcrston North, report having a good yarding of cattle and a fair yarding of sheep at the Palmerstoii North yards on Thursday when nearly all the lines ofieretl I changed hands at -.the following priccs:- ! Sheen: Mixed aged owes, in lamb. 3cls. Zα. Cattle: Empty cows, £3 165.; springing heifers, £7, £B, to £8 2s. 6d.; spntfgiug I cows, £12 12b. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., llastortlpn, report having held their weekly sale at Oarterton on Friday last, when there wfle a small attendance and a fair yarding of stock. Competition for sheep was gooa, but the demand'for cattle was very limited, the following prices'being realised :— Fat cows, £12 to £12 12s. 6d.; springing heiiers £7 10s. Tho dairy herd offered on account of Mr. Albert Hamilton averaged £10 55.; August calvers, £9, £9 10s.. £9 17s. 6d., £10 12s. 6d., to £11 12s. 6d.; September calvers, to £11. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd.. Masterton. report having held their weekly sale at Taratahi on Monday, when there was only a small entry of stock submitted to the usual attendance. The following prices were realised:—Forward-conditioned ewes, 305.; woolly wether hoggets, 30a. 6d.; m.s. ■ black-face hoggets, 225. 6d. ' Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Palmerston ! North, report having held their fortnight- ; ly sale at Taihano on Wednesday, when n, good entry of sheep came to hand. There was a good attendance of buyere, and all lines were disposed of under tho hammer. The demand'for lambs was strong, but aged ewes in lamb were inclined to be neglected. TVe quote;— Mixed aged ewes in lamb. 235. to 255.; four to five'-year ewes, Ms. 6d. to 245. 4d.; t.wo-tooth wethers, 345. I to 345. Bd.; wether lambs, to 245.; mixed lambs, 225. 6d. to 235. 6d.; small lambs, 16s. to 195.; cull lambs. 7s. to 93. 10d. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Aeencv Co.. Ltd., report having held their monthly stock sale at Waikanae on Thursday. A small entry of sheep and a fair yarding of cattle, were offered to a small attendance. Quotations:—Medium shorn hoggets, 225.; yearling steers, £7 Is.; forward condition cows. £6 2s. 6d.; spring calvinir heifers £7. £8 155., to £9 2s. 6i1.; springing cow, £11 10s.; yearling bnlls, £6 is. Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Co.. Ltd.. Pahiatua, report having held a sue-, oessful sale on account of Mr. J. P. Whib-' ley at Mangahao, on Thursday. There was a large attendance of buyers from all Darts of the district, and competition was vprv brisk throughout the sale. The cows realised from £9 to £15, making the satisfactory average of £11 12s. 6d. per head. The dry stock, horses, and implements sold exceptionally well.
