THE GAS TROUBLE

SUPPLY TOLL MAINTAINED. The gas, supply was well maintained throughout yesterday, and until after ten o'clock last evening. To-day the supply will bo turned on at 6.30 a.m., and will be kept going until 11 p.m., which is well after the closing tiiue of all ,the places of business. that use gas on the late night of the week. It is practically certain' that week-end will see the manufacture of gas up to all normal requirements. No change is reported with regard to thp coal situation. The company has nbout a fortnight's supply in hand at tho present time, but it, is hoped that the existing trouble with the coal workers will bo overcome long before the stocks are exhausted.
