" His Excellency the • Governor-General and the Bight Hon. W. F. Ifaseey, Prime Minister, have consented to lay tho stones. Invitations are "biong- eont to loading citizens throughout the Dominion, and it is antioipatod that there will be a largo gathering to cclobrato this important step towards the advancement of agriculture in its widost and best sense.

'designed to become the great centre of knowledge In regard to all' agricultural matteis, and in course of time, in conjunction, with the Agricultural Department, it should accomplish for New.Zealnnd what the great Agricultural Institute-at Home is doing for the agricultural world' in collecting the fullest information on rural subjects. .The institute.will bo the headquarters of .various farmers' organisations and a means of co-ordinating tho various efforts made by them. ..The building provides a large conference hall and committee rooms, besides office accommodation. In tho ultimate schemo provision is made for a farmera' club and private hotel, where visiting farmers may enjoy n'U the advan--taees of social intercourse with- their fellows on their visits to the Empire City. -
