FRENCH PRESS COMMENT
EX-CHANCELLOR SACRIFICED BT ALL PARTIES. Paris, July IC. The Paris "Temps" suys that the majority of the Germans were desirous of peace, and of ridding themselves of Yon Bethinaun-Hollweg as the author of the war. The remainder were determined on conquests, and drov3 him out, suspecting that he had abandoned all hope of annexations, while the Kaiser deserted him in order to save himself. Many of the newspapers argue that jtho Kaiser is convinced that Germany has lost the war, and that ho wishes to saddle his sen with the responsibility of extricating the dynasty and. tho country from its present plight, which is becoming worse.—A.us.N.Z.
