ITALIAN SHIPPING. (Rec.-July 5, 10.35 p.m.) Rome, July i. The Italian shipping return for-the first woek of July shows that 810 vessels arrived and 540 sailed. One steamer and eight small sailing ships and.four fishing vessels were lost—Aus-N.Z. Cable Assn.-Reuter.
ARGENTINE STEAMER SUNK BY GUN-FIRE '•■-'i London, July 4.. A German submarine sank the Argentine steamer Toro by gunfire on June 22 in the Atlantic, outside the war zone. The submarine commander examined the Toro's papers and found that she was carrying wool for Switzerland, but nevertheless persisted in sinking her. The crew was saved.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
NORWEGIAN SHIPPING LOSSES London, July 4. Router's Agency has been informed that the Norwegian shipping losses for June totalled 43, representing a tonnage of 60,000. Twenty-six lives were lost — Reuter.
