HUTT HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY

Tho fourteenth annual general meeting of .the Hutt Valley Horticultural Societ)' was held oil Tuesday evening, und was presided over by Mr. if. 11, Hayward (president). ' The balance-sheet and report were' adopted. • • ■

A rose bowl, valued at .£l2 125., was donated for competitive purposes by Mr. K. Gibson, Eltham. .

It was decided to 'hold three slums during the coming year, viz., a Bpring show,'combined rose and sweet pea show early in. December, and an autumn 6how.

The sum of .£lO 10s. over and above the amount already allocated, was donated to the Wounded Soldiers' I'und, and, as in past years) the wliole of tho profits on the coming shows will bo donated to that fund. Tho treasurer was instructed not to collect tlie subscriptions owing by members who had joined the New Zealand Expeditionary Force.. . . . • Eulogistic references were made to the work of' tho treasurer, jvho had been acting-secretary since the removal from the district of the late secretary, Mr. A. Hardham.
