JUBILEE OF CANADIAN DOMINION
SERVICE AT WESTMINSTER. London, July 2. Tho King, Queen Mary, Queen Alexandra, and other members of tho Royal Family, and Mr. Lloyd Georgo and his colleagues, will attend the service in Westminster Abbey to-day for tho celebration of the jubilee of Canada. Crowded preliminary services wero hold y«sterday in St. Columbus Church, in Westminster Cathedral, and elsewhere.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
[The original provinces of, Upper and Lower Canada, Nova Scotia, and >.'cw Brunswick were united into tho Dominion of Canada by a British Imperial Act passed in March, 1867,, called the British North America Act, 18117. It came into operation on July 1 of that year, by Royal Proclamation. The Act provides that Constitution of the Dominion shall be "similar in principle to that of the United Kingdom," and defined tho vesting of the Executive authority in the Sovereign, in whoso name it is carried on by a. Governor-General and Priw Council, while, the legislative power is exercisod by a Parliament composed of Ihe Senate and House of Commons.!
