REAL AND "PAPER" LOSSES

GERMAN DEMAND FOR THE TRUTH ABOUT THE CASUALTIES. Amsterdam, July 2. The estimates nf the German casualties that have appeared in the British newspapers have been necessarily founded on the German lists. These are so inaccurate that recently efforts have been, made in the Reichstag to elicit the truth. As the result of this pressure fresh figures havo been given under seal of secrecy. They show that, over two million Germans have been killed or have died of wounds and sickness; while those permanently disabled number upwards of three millions. The above statistics do not include the losses in the recent heavy fighting on the Hindenburg line.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
