,- ANOTHER BARRIER TO LENS GERMANS RETIRING FROM ■■■■':■ COAST REGION BIG RUSSIAN MOVE BATTLE FRONT ACTIVE Owing probably to some interruption in the telegraphic lines of communications, the war dispatches to-day are somewhat scanty. On the Western front Heig'has secured an important tactical advantage by striking a swift blow at a weakened link in the enemy's defence system at, Lens. The Germans are reported to.be effecting a general retirement from the coast region in Flanders. On the' French.. front there has been an eruption of activity over the old fighting ground at Verdun, and the famous position at Mort Homrne once more figures in the dispatches. A report from Eonie confidently anticipates the early inauguration of a general offensive by the Russians, and even the German newspapers are preparing their public for such an event. The premonitory symptoms of extensive activity are to be noted in the offioial' communiques. The fall of .King Constantino is stated to have given King Ferdinand food for. serious reflection—on the possibility of tin invasion of his territory, if not even of hie thTone.
