SATURDAY'S RESULTS Excellent weathoi* was experienced on Saturday, and somo very good play was witnessed. There wero a. large number of spectators, especially at Duppa Street, where tho need of a few scats was emphasised. Every Saturday this ground has fewer spectators than it would have if seating accommodation were provided. Following arc the results of the games played :—
Third Grade. There were three third grado matches played in town and one at the Hutt. At Duppa Street, Institute met Karorl. ana a good oven' game ensued. Karori are still somewhat handiepped by the loss of their full-back (Russell), who was injured in tho first game of the season, and Institute wero unlucky on Saturday in that probably their best player (Mencc) was unwell, and at ono stage retired from the field. In tho first half Institute scored 3 goals (Mence 2 and Browney 1). and iu tho second half Karori scored 2 (IVUUins 1 and Manley 1). so that a very evenly-contested gamo finished with a win for Institute. Mr. 0. Webster refcrced. Marist met Wadestown at Kelburn Park, and defeated them by 3 goals to nil. Play wae very fast. Scorers for Marist wero Mooney, Scanlan, and Turner. Mr. J. Duffy referecd. At Anderson Park, Johnsonville met St. David's, and defeated them by four goals to one. After half an hour's good play on both sides Angell scored Johnsonvillo's first goal. Good solid work was done by Oswald, as centre-half for Johnsonville; also by St. David's full-backs. In the second-half, St. David's scored a good, goal by Andrews after eomo exciting play. The romaining scorers were Angell, M'Farlane, and Moore, Johnsonville thereby winning Mr. V. Astill was referee. At Lower Hutt, Y.M.O.A. met tho Hutt, and after a rather uniniterestiug gamo wore defeated by 3 goals to nil. Scorers for Hutt were :-M'Onrdy, A. Smith, and R. Lusty. Mr. J. 11. Pyc-Smitli wae referee.
Fourth Grade. Tho game between Empire and Thorndon at Duppa Street attracted a good deal of attention. Both teams were previously unbeaten this year. Thorndon did not put up such a stand as it was expected they would, .and failed to score during tho game. Empiro ployed with good combination, however, and. put up 5 goals. Tho scorers wero:—Taylor 3. Hart 1. ana F. Rabbitt 1. Mr. B. Hill was referee. St David's v. Johnsonville, at Duppa. Street, resulted in a win for the former by six goals to nil. Island Bay met Institute H at Association Park, and after a game decidedly in their favour defeated them by 8 goals to nil. Soorev for island Bay werc:-Hearne 4. Grcnside 2, Mow ton 1, and Turey 1. Institute A 15, defeated \.M.C.A. v.
Fifth A Grade. Y.M.O.A. mot. SouUi Wellington at JUuppa Street, and were defeated by 3 Koala to 1.
Institute. 1, Karori 0. MoGill (2). Calvert, and Cunningham wore the scorers.
Fifth B Grade. Marist defeated St.' Peter's at Duppa. Street by 5 goals to nil.
