THE SHIPPING SHORTAGE
INCREASED COLD STORAGE REQUIRED IN SYDNEY. Sydney, June 30. Tho Butter Conference discussed the shortage of shipping space and the possibility of augmenting tne present cold storage facilities. It appointed a committee to investigate tho difficulties. A. shipping representative stated that tho British Government wanted other things than butter, in the following order:—Beef, mutton, cheese, rabbits, lamb, and then butter. There vaa more beef in the Queensland stores than the authorities were able to ship. The Sydney stores were full' of rabbits', and there were 700,000 crates in Australia awaiting shipment.
A cold storago representative said the difficulty of oxtendlng the available space was because they wore unable to obtain piping and machinery.—Press Assn.
