OUR STORE OF MEAT
A CLEARANCE WANTED. On Saturday morning tho Prime Minister cabled to tho Imperial authorities and the British Press particulars as to the quantity of meat in store, in NewZealand, and the quantity which it is expected will ho in store before next season begins, in order that the fullest publicity may bo given to the fact. Mr. Massey stated that there are three arid a quarter million carcasses of meat in store at the present moment, and in two or three weeks the total wilt be, approximately, four millions.
"This action," said tho Prime Minister, "is taken ,_ivi th a view to impressing on the Imperial authorities tho -urgent necessity that exists for providing increased tonnage in order to relieve the congestion. /This is merely the start of a publicity campaign England in regard to the meat, position in Now Zealand. It is intended to cable every week to tho Imperial authorities and tho English Pross such particulars as are available, so that tho British public shall know what is tlio position in New Zealand."
