WELLINGTON CENTRE REPORT. The executive of tho Wellington Bowling Centre, in its annual report, states that the affiliated clubs number 17, with a membership of over 1100. During tho season clubs were asked to donato towards a fund for the purpose of purchasing Christmas gifts for tho New Zealand eoldicrß at the front. As a result a sum- of £143 was handed over to tho fund. Tho eentro reports that no satisfaction has been forthcoming regarding tho protest made last, year against tho aotion of the association at Ohristchurch in not notifying centres before any vital aJteratiou was made in the laws of tho game. During tho association tournament a first and second prize were donated by the centro for the best playing green. The first prize was won by Caretaker Avis, of ; tho Hataitai green, and the. second prke I by Caretaker Earle, of tho Newtown j green. LYALL BAY BOWLING AND TENNIS CLCJB. The annual meeting of the Lyall Bay Bowling and Tennis Club, Ltd., was well attended. The - Report and balance-sheet for the year, which was fairly satisfactory, was .adopted. Tto election of 'officers resulted as follows President, Mr. W. H. Morrah; directors, Messrs. T. Burgess, J. Dillon, and J. B. Rcid; secretary, Mr. B. 1\ Martin; treasurer, Mr. T. Burgess; auditor, Mr. G. , A. Dione. ; Tho question of altering by-laws to substitute "sole selector" for "match committee of 3" was fully discussed, and resulted in the sole selector being approved. Mr. .T. B. Held was appointed to the position. Messrs. Brailsford, Carman, Dillon. Easson, Irvine,- and Whitehead were elected an entertaiument committee. In response to an appeal for more Bhares to bo taken up, tho members present acted on the request very generously. The matter of pennant play for tho coining season was discussed, and it was decided to support the same conditions as last year. KELBTJBN CLUB. Tho soventh annual report of tho Kelburn Bowling Club congratulates members on the healthy condition of tho club's finances. Tho "whole expenditure for tho pastyoar is met out of donations and tho year's income, and, in addition, .the overdraft "was slightly reduced. Dijrins tho previous year tho overdraft was reduced by £11 165., and during tho 191&1917 eeasou by £1 13s. sd. It novr stands at £421 17s. 2d. Tho directors suggest that the i officers of tho club should make it their aim to bring tho amount below £400 this season, and effect a substantial reduction in' each succeeding year. When tho club parted with ite'freehold property; and laid down a now green on tho present site, the directors determined to break -with tho old eystem of • funding yearly deficiencies, and resolved that for the future the club must, in common with all prudent concerns and individuals, livo within its means. Interest has been paid on tho preference shares from tho dato of tho formation of the company, and. at the present moment tho club Has not a liability of any sort, ghapo or description beyond tho two items mentioned in the balance-sheet.

"During last winter many improvements to tho surroundings of tho green were effected, largely with the assistance of willing enthusiasts who devoted somo of their Saturday afternoons to tho work. Somo hundreds of shrubs were planted on tho banks, and so well was the work dono that more than seventy-five per cent, havo survived tho ordeal of the first summer. "Tho directors express their debt of gratitude to Mr. E. C. Gannaway for valuable services, which he has again rendered in his capacity of green euperinteudent. Ho lias an. assiduous though unobtrusive helper in Mr. Frank Oakes." . Of the four directors who retiro, Messrs. J. M. Hutchison and A. I). Thomson are eligible for re-election. Tho annual meeting of tho Wellington Bowling Club will bo held this evening.
