By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, June 10. Thero is nothing fresh to report in tho grain trade, there being no wheat offering and oats remain scarce and firm. Business could bo dono in oat sheaf chaff with Auckland, but no freight is available. A modorato quantity is being shipped to Wellington by the smaller coastal steamers, but it is reported that tho Union Company is unable to give any spaco for chaff. The prices offered for oat sheaf chaff are JE3 15s. to £i ss. at country stations, according; to quality. There is a littlo more business doing in potatoes, mainly no doubt to complete forward sales. Tho price has recovered awl sales have been made at .E3 10s. to JI3 155., tho former being tho price generally offered. There is not a largo quantity "offering, as growers aro taking advantage of tho continuance of fine weather to put in their crop?. Thero is still a fairly largo area to dig. Seed potatoes aro in good demand, the early varieties being senrco in consequence of tho comparative failure of tho early crops. Prices offered are: Ttobin Adair and Beauty of Hebron, X 7 to ,£8; Acme kidneys, £6; Northern Stars and Up to Dates, X 3 to JU.
