SUNDAY GOLF
Sir,—l see in Friday's issue of your paper that the Wellington City Council proposes to apply for Parliamentary powers to prohibit Sunday golf. 'L'hat Sunday gjolf is desired and desirable is proved by tlie number, of ladies and gentlemen who now avail themselves of tho Municipal Links on Sundays. Since the decision of -the Court of Appeal there have l>een more than eighty fick'ets sold each fine Sunday.
The action of the council in taViug legal steps to prohibit play lias cost 'them approximately .£l5O, and has cost me and my friends in our endeavour to maintain public rights and privileges somewhere about ifilOfl. Now, the council have decided to spend more of the citizens' money to enforce sectarian fads. How long will the citizens be content to be the milch cow?
There has; been a picture running at one of the theatres entitled "Intolerance": if only the actions of the C'ity Council could be represented Dictorially another -reel could well be added to Hie picture.—f am, etc. •\T. WHITEHEAD.
