CIVIL OASES. Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., heard the civil cases in the Magistrate's Court yesterday. Finlay M'Leod, for whom Mr. M. Myora appeared, proceeded against T. K. <->° CKburn to recover £9 rent of a owelunßhouso in Crieff Street, Northlnnd. the Claim was admitted, but defendant coun-ter-claimed for £50 for damages in respect to injuries alleged to have. Been sustained by defendant's wife owing to tho alleged non-repair by plaintiff ot si flight of steps. After a, partial l"" 0 ""? the caso was adjourned sine die. Mr. ± ■ H. In a. judgment summons oasc, Miss Nellie Hill was ordered to pay Frost and Frost £3 3s. by Juno 28, in default 21 hours' Imprisonment. OTHER CASES. In the caso of Sarah Jane Bird v. Mrs. Brown and Shepherd Brown, judgment was given for plaintiff for possession of tenement and £6 6s. 6d, with 18s. costs. David Morris Owens proceeded against Frank M.'Orome to recover tho sum of £3 15s. for repairs to a dwelling-house rented by defendant from plaintiff. After hearing the evidence, whioh was lengthy, Mr. L. O. Held, 8.M., gavo judgment for plaiutlfl for £1, with costs Bs. Mr. R. A. Howio appeared for plaintiff, and Mr. H. F. O Lea.ry for defendant.
