MASTERTON NOTES
At the monthly meeting of tho Central Committeo of tho Wairarapa. Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, Mr. W. Fisher was re-elected chairman. It was decided, in view of the increased number of patients, to appoint a further eister to tho Mastcjrton Hospital. The resignation of Sister Campbell from the staff of the llasterton Hospital was accepted. At a meeting of the Claims' Board of the Wairarapa Patriotic Association on ■Monday, right of service grants were made to two returned soldiers, and temporary assistance was granted in two cases. At a meeting of the board of management of the Masterton branch of tho I.M.C.A. on Monday, twenty new members were elected. Tho question of accommodation wns discussed, and a committee was appointed to try and 6ecure another building for the accommodation of the boy scouts. _ There are at present fifty-four patients in tho Masterton Hospital, and eleven j inmates of the Solway Home for old men. Quite a largo area of land ih the neighbourhood of Masterton is Bein? devoted tllis year to wheat-growing. Ploughing operations are now in progress. At a meeting of tho Stoneheuge Lodse of Druids on Monday evening, Bro. ,T. Smith wae elected A.D. for the ensuin? term, and the officers wero installed by Bro. ,T. H. Barlow, district president.
